I finally got a hold of my mom amp she met us there. Unfortunately my dad never recovered from that experience and we lost him months later.

Kill Kill, Faster Faster. Its a crime book written in a sort of New York rap prose. Very modern. Very original. Extremely brilliant. Its by an American writer called Joel Rose....Also Angels by Denis Johnson. He wrote the book the film Jesus Son was based on starring Samantha Morton and Billy Crudup. Hes recognised by the literary underground as an absolute master. Seek him out. I think hes something of a genius.

I dont have a real favorite, but one in particular Im very fond of is The Mists of Avalon. Its a retelling of the legends of King Arthur, but from the perspective of the women in the story. What I especially like about this is that the author doesnt sacrifice the perspectives of the men, she just emphasizes those of the women, and the result is in my opinion the most characterdriven version of the Arthur story Ive ever read. All the people in it are threedimensional and very human, including the villains. And it has a very adult take on love and sexuality, on complex relationships, and especially on how our hangups and taboos can poison relationships with people we love.brbrAlong those lines, it has interesting things to say about the sexual and religious politics of the time. Morgaine Arthurs halfsister is raised as a priestess of an old Celtic religion that respected nature and honored women, and this religion is dying out in Britain as Roman Christianity is taking over. Throughout the novel Morgaine finds herself clashing not with Christianity itself as she initially thinks, but with a certain brand of Christianity that imports Roman culture, treating women as the property of men and teaching people of both sexes to repress even their harmless quotsinsquot.brbrThis is a fantasy novel, and there is magic in this novel. My favorite book to read? Thats really, really hard! There are so many to choose from!brbrI would have to say Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell! Its wonderful! Amazing! The character symbolisms are so, totally brilliant I cant imagine how she thought of them! The representations of the war and the changes of the South are terrific! I love her characters personalities as well theres such a diverse variety of characters, from the really simple ones to the complex, multilayered ones.brbrThe plot is really cut and dry, but somehow, the book isnt boring! I couldnt put it down! The world that Margaret Mitchell created just draws you in, and you never want to leave it! It was so sad when I reached the end of the story!brbrGone With the Wind is probably the best book in the world! I love to read it over and over again!

This questions answers were a revelation to me. I am a very language oriented person and your question attracted me because I have had questions as to how a baby or an animal could think as have many scientists who specialize in thinking judging by what they write. It has been written by some of these that animals and human babies under years to months are not even conscious! People must think in a variety of different ways judging by these answers.brbrI had some deaf and dumb relatives who one had to communicate with by written or sign language and they obviously didnt think in words like I do primarily. How they do think I have a hard time imagining.They are as intelligent as any auditory person. I rarelty if ever think in images except when draming or imagining a scene but in this case there are words in my mind doing a running commentary on what Im imagining. One person answered that he thought in concepts perhaps I do but because my quotbrain voicequot does a running commentary on such concepts I am seldom aware of it.brbrWhat I have thought in order to get up and walk for example is probably a concept but I have been so unaware of it consciously that I thought that it was done by the subconscious or unconscious mind. The first I can remember was when I was about also. I was playing with my sylvanian families and my mum came in the living room and asked me if i wanted a drink. I was so sure that I had been in that exact place before, it was quite eerie. In rejecting books that have been made into movies, you are missing out on some seriously great literature. If you like Poppy Z, I would suggest looking at some of Laurell K. Hamiltons works, although I preempt that with a warning, there is quite a bit of graphic quotactivityquot in that series. Guilty Pleasures is the first in that series, I believe. Also it sounds to me like you might enjoy On the Road by Jack Kerouac Im drawing on your Toby Litt like here, or William Bernhardt or Jefferey Deaver for a more John Grishamesque flavor.

My son is very unusual. He is years old and currently studying philosophy and religion for his degree. He is undergoing quite an intense personal journey and feels he is onto something big but doesnt know what it is yet. He is as much a pacifist in daily life as he is politically, is sensitive and feels very strongly about the state of the contemporary world. He travels through time and this makes for a love story so powerful.brbrIt is a little confussing to begin with but if you stick to it, it all makes sense after a chapter or two.
